West Ham v Liverpool Prediction 20th September 2014

West Ham v Liverpool Premier League, 20th September

West Ham
Big question marks over both of these heading into this one. West Ham have been shaky at home this season, while Liverpool look short of quality up front suddenly, having lost Daniel Sturridge through injury. Can the Hammers capabilities on that, or will Liverpool extend their already strong Premier League record against the London outfit?
Online betting site Paddy Power make Liverpool 4/5 favourites, with the Hammers out as 4/1 underdogs. The bookie is running their Pick Your Own Money Back Special, where you can lost stakes refunded on the correct score, scorecast and first/last goalscorer markets if your trigger is activated. Chose from Mario Balotelli scoring first, Raheem Sterling scoring anytime, the game ending in a draw or a goal in the last five minutes.

West Ham v Liverpool Betting Tips

The Hammers have lost both of their home games so far in the Premier League this season, going down against Southampton and Spurs. It’s another top half of the table opponent they have to deal with on Saturday as Liverpool head to London. West Ham’s defence has not been there this season. Under the blueprint orders from the board about having to play more attacking football this season, Sam Allardyce has seen his defence fall apart in light of that. It seems to be a bit of a lose-lose position for him. Still, the Hammers may have taken some big heart from a battling 2-2 draw which they earned at Hull last Monday.
Their four points have all come on the road this season, which won’t give punters much confidenceabout backing them in this one. Allardyce’s men have yet to keep a clean sheet either this term, so you look at that and expect them to have an uphill battle to post a win. They have been drawing at half time in both of their home games this season though, so that could suggest a draw/Liverpool half time full time bet is going to return some value. Enner Valencia scored a cracker against Hull in that draw, and he is the shortest priced West Ham option in the anytime goalscorer market at a price of 5/2 with Paddy Power.
Liverpool were firing on all cylinders as an offensive unit last season thanks to Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge. With Suarez gone and Sturridge out injured, they look poor in the final third of the pitch. They dominated possession in their last league match against Aston Villa at Anfield and ended up losing. Then they needed an injury time goal to beat Bulgarian minnows Ludogorets at home in the Champions League. Mario Balotelli has the pressure on his shoulders for goals, but he has scored just one goal in his last eighten Premier League appearances. The Italian is trading as favourite in the anytime goalscorer market for the game.
Can Liverpool respond to that setback against Villa? That is probably the biggest question that is going to be asked in this one. They do have the form against West Ham to suggest that they can. The Reds have lost one and won eight of the last eleven against the Hammers. Even though they haven’t been firing as well up front this season, they have still scored 33 goals in their last eleven away games. They should find the back of the net in this one.

Who will win – West Ham v Liverpool Predictions

The three points at the end of the day should go to the Reds, but this is no easy game. Hard to see them pushing over a one goal margin win in this one, and as West Ham have been level at half time in their other two home games, shoot for a Draw/Liverpool half time/full time wager.
